Hi all,
Am having difficulties configuring the above into a Potato box.
I believe the card isn't the problem (ie 525 on the list in xconfigure)
4Mb Card
I believe hsync = 30 - 54
vsync = 50-60
If anyone can point me somewhere it would be a great help-
cheers

To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to
rm -rf directory is definately way to go ...
though before you press enter count to 5 and ensure you haven't typed
rm -rf / (potential to say goodbye to everything )
If unsure try rm -rif /path/directory
at least you may save yourself a small heartache.

I have a potato box and trying to install X
Current Config is
S3 Virge GX/2 4mb Card and an
ADI ProVista VD 548 Monitor (Which I can't seem to get specs for ...)
No valid Modes seem to come through and when I run XF86_S3 it falls over.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Have started with fresh machine and with Debian 3.0 Pressed disks.
I have tried various configurations with partitions on a 1.4G drive and still getting
stuck with various stages of install.
ALL msg say:
Failure trying to run: chroot /target dpkg --force-depends --install
/var/cache/apt/
More info...
it seems to have a segmentation fault occuring at the time installing
"/var/lib/dpkg/info/base-files.postinst segmentation fault chown root.staff $1
2>/dev/null"
I am doing an automatic install with nothing else (no network or devices added just
raw base install)
cheers
