Hi, I have been using Red Hat Linux exclusively for a little over a year

Hi, I just moved over from redhat and am wondering about how to do a few
things in the debian package management system.
1) If you know the name of a file you need, but not what package it is
part of, what's the best way to find out what package you need?

Hi, I'm having some weirdness happening with root on my system. In
root's .bashrc file I set his PATH with:

This works fine when he is just working in a gnome-terminal or

Forget it, I fixed it. For some reason Sawfish refused to create the
~/.sawfish/custom file by itself so I just had to touch that file to create
it and now all my settings get saved. Thanks anyway. -Jeff

Hi, I know I updated Dia today, but I'm not sure if this problem is a

anything from Helix. I

I wouldn't go all the way up to sid. I am in the process of downgrading from
sid to woody because sid was a little too much trouble for me, even on my
home machine. For example, recently the sharefont package got updated and
broke StarOffice for about a week or so right when I was trying to writ
