5 minute timer and found that Mozilla was doing some cache stuff in my
home directory and cups is doing something with /etc/cups/certs/0.
I'm also trying it without the -type f, as you suggest, and finding
postfix is doing stuff with /var/spool/postfix/public/pickup and

Oh, and I changed my dhcp server to serve itself as the dnsserver.
I've always used my ISP's DNS primarily, so that's no bother for me.
dnsmasq feeds off of /etc/hosts so I can simply add hosts there and
they will be served locally.

I just did this myself. I got a Linksys WAP11 ver.2.2 AP and a
Linksys WMP11 Wireless PCI Card for a PC. As for PCMCIA, I have
Lucent WaveLAN GOLD card that works nicely as well. This is all with
Woody. The WMP11 uses the hermes module.

compile the modules and put them in a separate modules.deb file to be

Look at "man netenv" to see out to add the other network to the config
so you'll see "default" and "other" on the netenv window.

AIUI, you need to set append="ide0=ata66" in /etc/lilo.conf. This is
what I do. If I don't set this, I see a message in /var/log/dmesg
that states ide will use 33Mhz since it can't determine the actual
speed. There was some discussion on this recently on this li
well and it works great, but it uses the PCI_HERMES
module, not the prism2_pci module. I using kernel 2.4.18 or 2.4.19 on
that system, I can't recall which.

Usually the .bin file comes to you with non-executable permissions.
Change it with chmod 755 startoffice_6.bin and then run it with

don't bother running M$ products under linux unless

when you have to remove all the stuff it can be
kind of a pain. is there a nice one liner that
would delete it all? something like 'find / |
rm -rf 'licq files'. i like learning about console
commands because i think they're damn powerful.

tart with a Class C network, go the the CIDR tab and play
with the Subnet Bits. You'll see the long form of the mask change.
Then go to the Subnets/Hosts tab and see the ranges. The ranges shows
the network and broadcast addresses and everything in between are for
hosts.

's the office's network folder on? Linux/Unix/other?
- Who controls that system, you or the IT dept.?
- Do you connect to this folder with another system currently? How is
that accomplished?

plug in my Lexar SmartMedia reader and upload some pictures. Then, I
unplug that and put my usb mouse back in. Hotplug manages the usb
interface which allows me to do this.
I'm running woody/stable and a self-compiled 2.4.19 kernel.
