DEC Ethernet Card (de4x5) doesn't see a network

Hi folks, I've searched in Deja, and Google... but to no avail. I've a DECchip based network card. I load de4x5, and everything works... *after* I unplug the network and then re-plug in the plug. So, whenever I boot, I need to see the system... which should be a server in a separate room. Okay

ISDN says "no channel for ippp0" on dialing... why?
