The cdrecord package is compiled for the 2.4 kernel. In order to use
Xcdroast one needs to do 'apt-get build-dep && apt-get source -b
cdrecord' This is not a big deal, the first time, but afaik the default
kernel (disk 1 anyway) is 2.2.xx. Minor rant :)

Your card has a Realtech chipset. There are modules for Realtech
chipsets in the default kernel install. Maybe try a different modu

you use i.e. Knode , in KDE ver 2.2.1 it is not compatible with ver KDE
2.2.2. (message handling) Its little things like this that make sharing

You can still do the PC method of getting the woody iso's. Use the jigdo
method, http://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd/, check out the 'mirrors' file
located on a jigdo file server, fsu.hu gets lots of traffic
cd-burner is seen as a cdrom only not a burner. YMMV

Two programs that from a user perspective cause workarounds are
xcdroast/cdrecord/mkisofs & vmware. Each one is compiled for one kernel
version. Switching causes them to not work until recompiled or new
modules generated (vmware) If you are using Woody the 2.4 series works
well, smp
s card is similar to the S3 Trio 64V card I finally installed
Xfree86 v 3.6, which comes ( thankfully) with Woody. If your video card
is older there may be better support in ver 3.6.
