I just tried out kernel 2.4.7 - everything seems to work fine, except
the PPP connection. pppd quits just after being started.
I tried out pppoe - it can connect to my access concentrator.

I'm new to the list and am having problems with the XFree86 set up
in Woody. I recently upgraded from Potato to Woody and have also
grabbed the KDE2.2 packages from Sid but I'm having trouble getting
the x-server up and running.
I have been configuring via dpkg-reconfigure x-server-xfree8
removing that line or changing it to false doesn't seem to make any
difference to it starting up. Right now I'd just like to see it
starting up even if I still need to fine tune it a bit afterwards.

Mildly chaotic "update" process, since I was
a bit confused about the Deb packages to get.
I started with:
xfree86-common
x-window-system-core
xse
I apologise for my late response but i was quite busy and the about
what happend in the Us i couldn't get myself on the PC to solve my
little problem.
But today I thought it's time to do so. I found out that I have
multiple problems that seemed to have appeared suddenly.
It's the fetchmai problem

It is (and has always been there) and there is a symlink from
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config to this file.

I did a dist-upgrade from potato to sid with the images from
ftp://ftp.fsn.hu/pub/CDROM-Images/. I can't configure the DNS server. I
used pppconfig to do so and the configuration files in /etc/ppp look
like the ones I saved from my potato system. Is there anything else I
