Hi,
I ran "apt-get upgrade" a while ago and now gcc won't work. I pinned
it down to a problem with either libstdc++2.8 or libc6. So I tried to
reinstall them both: libstdc++2.8 installed OK but libc6 won't install as
it "conflicts with libstdc++" which I'm sure it's not supposed to...

programming or reading newsgroups :)

Isn't this what I need? I

like to continue using linux.
Could someone tell me why I'm using linux not Windows 95? I've been
told that linux is much better and I believed
Hi,
Thanks to everyone that replied to my e-mail. I think my main problem
is that I try to compile too many things that I could just get as an
older, less optimised .deb file, also I started using linux at school where
I wasn't root and so all the big things were managed for me and I got used
