If the above works for you, then all you need to do is add ne2k-pci to
/etc/modules and it will be done automatically at boot. If there are
any additional module dependencies that must be handled first, then you
may need to become familiar with the modutils system (see
/usr/share/doc/modutils).

This is a good job for ImageMagick. I haven't used it to convert from
PDF, or to convert to CGM/EMF/WMF. However, both such conversions are
supported.
I think it should be as simple as:

Use autoup.sh to upgrade (from the developer's corner of the website).
Then, grab apt from project/experimental to finish the upgrade, it's very
cool, eliminating the multiple passes through install/config/remove, and
gives a status of the download (use the apt met
rc or .bash_profile. It destroys itself when
started (copying a normal startup file over itself). I believe inittab is
also modified so the root login isn't automatic anymore. You need to
change this before you go into that initial boot, on the base disks
themselves, or before the reboot on th
oretically possible, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.
Want to help speed it up? Drop me a line, give me an idea of what you
can do. I'll send you the current status of the project and a list areas
that can be worked on, along with adding you to the testing mailing list.

This has happened to me. Just add "serial" to /etc/modules. If you
don't, serial is autoloaded whenever you need it, but with the default
values. After a while, it is unloaded again, unless

nothing else is using that irq and that the card is really using that irq.
Then do the same for the laptop. It means pulling out manuals, checking
jumpers, using isapnptools, and loading/unloading kernel modules. I can't
guarantee a hardware problem, but others on the list se
