I have stripped down both the diald and pppd configuration files to the
bare minimum and still have the problems with pppd being unable to get
started up by diald. The interesting part ofthis problem is that

I have been struggling with getting my mouse to work for quite some time
now. I have read the FAQ and HowTo, and think I have been doing
everything right. But when I try out my mouse with select or start gpm I
get :
gpm: /dev/mouse: Device or resource busy
/dev/mouse is a soft link

I have a very similar setup, and I had to setup the IP-MASQ machine as a
nameserver. I don't know techincally why this was necessary as on my last
installation I didn't have to. I was having fits until I installed bind,
and it's worked like a charm ever since. I would love an explanation
