Let me add that "3.2.1 Checking Packages Status" is important. debconfig was
not correctly configured and, well, I'm now re-installing my whole system.
These manuals are great for us newbies - heed their warnings!
And I'd recommend getting to know dselect before diving in...

I've been using dhcp-client 2.0pl4-2 w/ Potato and just upgraded to Woody
(w/ dhcp-client 2.0pl5-11). When I rebooted (and every time since) the dhcp
client does not pick up an IP address and I have to manually start it - then
all is well.
I have replaced the static IP address w/ 'dhcp' in 'interf
When I upgraded/build a new kernel, I had a problem w/ the nvidia driver and
ended up changing back to 'Driver "nv"' (see step 6). Not optimal but
it works...
