I already tryied many ways to install the potato packages(because I
already installed it Basic System from hard disk), but it`s how if my cdrom
reader don`t existed.
Also it`s impossible I acess the internet from Linux because my modem is
the US Robotics Winmodem, and is not compatible with L

Due problems accordant my lasts mail`s, I just win to install packages
manualy: downloading from internet to my windows partition and installing
it from my hard disk ( ! ).
My problem is being to find the dependences packages. To install the the
package "Afterstep", I need 7 dependes packages
When I try to copy (or install) some deb file of my cdrom, it`s give-me
the error
message (without to acept CRTL X C, CRTL D , CRTL Z ) :

If my sources.list has the single line "deb file:/win/ main" , does the
dpkg find the
deb files within directorys
main/binary-i386/editors/
main/binary-i386/x11/
main/binary-i386/libs/
etc
Or must I have to put all the deb files within "main/binary-i386" and to

Do HD memory does change the eficience or the speed of my computer ?
Because I`m thinking about to buy a computer with only 2 or 3 gigabytes

navegate in the internet, to make laboratory works (in the graduate

Which modem, cdrom and video cards do you advice me to buy ? I have ~
U$130 (R$260 in Brazil) to buy all it. Speaking under other form: which
modem, cdrom and video cards does have both middle price and works good
with Linux ?
