Installing Gimp 2.10.2

I'm trying to install Gimp 2.10.2. I tried adding the flatpack repository but it message "sudo: add-apt-repository: command not found" I think I might have to build it from source code. Anyone else got it to install correctly? Thanks for any advice. HP Garcia
