timeriomem-rng and rng-tools

Hello List, I am running my Lenny box with the latest stable kernel (2.6.30): I want to give a try to the module timeriomem-rng : after loading it, no /dev/hwrng is present. Installing the package rng-tools did not help: is it expected ? or is timeriomen-rng not yet supported beyond the kernel ?
