Thanks Joe, It works quite well, only "awk '{print $1}'" also shows the "/unknown" part that is appended to the packages names. For example: libsnmp5/unknown unzip/unknown cpio/unknown Because of this dpkg cannot handle this. Can you tell me how I can exclude that "/unknown" part? Thanks a lot
