I've just started using Debian on my machine (which dual boots with
Windoze - need to keep it for work)... I've been using Knoppix for a
while but wanted to have a more permanent system. My friend helped me
with the setup but since we did it in his home, the DHCP points to his
IP/Router...

I am using Secure CRT 3.4.4 and was having the same problem ("Unable to
authenticate using any of the configured authentication methods") on Suse
9.2 Pro openssh-3.9p1-3. I got it to work by changing Secure CRT's
Connection properties.

Last january, my debian woody hangs but no a complete freeze: it
answered ping, pop3.. but not smtp(postfix), ssh, no console login...
