I don't know if this helps, but I've compiled my kernel with ACPI
instead of APM and installed the acpid package and all works OK! (I
also selected the ACPI option on the BIOS, so I suppose that if you
have it selected and are trying to use the APM it gives some kind of
conflict since they can't be

have tried (although on my system the file is called
/tmp/session_mm_apache0.sem (with 600 perms)), but also that it may be

Pci card installed. I get the install to load the module (megaraid.o)
off of a floppy and then it partitioned the drive and installed
everything. Great!! now it restarts what is the correct way of getting

I run KDE w/KDM on machine B. Machine A is configured to run "X -query B".
It worked fine for a long time, where I would get a KDE background with the
KDM login screen.
B is running unstable, and A isn't.

I have installed KDE3.1x first on Debian sid and thereafter Gnome2.x.
Since then the theme of KDE appears only for a short moment while
starting and is then replaced by that of Gnome.
How can I put everything again to where it belongs?
