Also unfortunately many people either have no idea about CMOS setup, or never fiddle with it. It should be a must to play with CMOS settings whenever you have a hardware problem or for performance/setup reasons. Check your devices i.e IDE slave/master, cabling e.t.c.

If you get DENY messages in your logs, this is indicative of ipchains problem. Either your all your chains are flushed, and set to default DENY, or some other ipchains misconfiguration. Do ipchains -L to see if any of the chains are set to DENY, or flushed to DENY.

I'm about ready to go out and buy a new computer. I'd really like to buy a system with Debian preinstalled. I called VA Linux, and even though they sell Debian, they won't sell me a computer with Debian on it. Penguin uses Red Hat as well. Any ideas?
