I have the same problem. The cause is that the java runtime uses private
symbols from libc6 (glibc2) that are no longer visible in glibc2.1. There is
no fix that I know of, short of downgrading to glibc2 (which breaks tons of

:Workstation' or 'nbplkup :LaserWriter' work fine, but since none of
those generate anything lo

Hi,
I finally decided to switch pine to mutt. I went through the mutt
documentation and have the following questions to ask:
1. I use vi for composing the mails, but ZZ does not save the
message, I will have to use :wq. Is there a way to configure mutt to
recognise this??

I have not compiled my kernel yet, but I want to, and I want to see how it
is currently configured. Is there any easy way to do this?
Furthermore, do I really need to? I just want to add SoundBlaster support.
Instead of upgrading the kernel, could I not just get the source for the
current version

Hi all:
I have Deb2.1, 2.2.5 kernel with QlogicISP SCSI adapter support compiled
as modules. I use with it Panasonic CDR (the only device on the
adapter).
I was hoping that whenever I mount a CD-Rom with
$ mount /dev/scd0 /mnt/scsi
neccessary modules would load automatically. However, mount comp

I'm not sure. Look for file /usr/src/linux/.config. I'm not sure if it
gets installed by Debian installer.

I cannot keep up with the debian-user list, so please
address any replies to me personally as well as to the

Several months ago, I tried to update to the "stable"
