Interesting. This test really doesn't show me any differences, but it does
make a difference whether I put
XTerm*TermName:xterm-debian
or this

I managed to get my $TERM setting to say 'xterm' when I log in.
Now my backspace works again, as does my delete key!!
So once again we fixed the xterm & bs proble

dpkg-reconfigure'ing I managed to fix this, and for a while my backspace
acted
