With the advent of XFree86 4.x Mesa is getting rolled into X, this being all
part of the DRI initiative. This is why your mesag3 pacakges are being
replaced ...

packages with xlibsosmesa3 and its associated packages. I seem just now to
have quieted it, but why would it want to do that and which is a better package
to use? Does mesag3 support X, and if it doesn't, can X programs use it
