I did a dist-upgrade on one of my sid boxes yesterday, and I can't get
xserver-xfree86 to install. Because of that, x-window-system-core and
x-window-system cannot install. When I run apt-get dist-upgrade, apt-get -f
install or manually dpkg -i, I g

Very important: I don't have an internet connection.

You can take kernel-image-2.2.20-udma100-ext3 from the Pool (Woody) and
install it manually on Potato. It should als be SMP-enabled

I need your advice. I have an Intel i810 chipset and the driver requires
XFree86 version 3.3.6, but slink has 3.3.2. The driver also requires a
kernel module which is for 2.2 kernels, while slink has 2.0 kernels.
Additionally, the Intel support site offers the driver, and they say the

Hi.
I've just reinstalled my system, and something strange happens...
(I'm running slink on a Pentium II)
I have a S3 Trio 3D/2X video card... Which is not supported by xfree
3.3.3 (which came with slink 2.1). So I first installed slink, then
upgraded xfree86 from:

Since I cannot do that just yet where my Linux box is, what could I download at
another Internet-ready machine (which has a T1 line) to get deselect to work
right?
Also, how do dselect and apt integrate with one another

Put the following in /etc/apt/sources.list (in addition to the normal
entries):
deb http://ftp.netgod.net/ x/
Run dselect/update, select the Xserver you need and let apt sort out the
rest.

I need some advice on how to upgrade the XFree86 files that came with Slink. My
problem is that I have a card (STB nVIDIA TNT, 16 Mb of RAM) not listed in the
stable version, but listed in the unstable version of X. Newer versions of X
that came with Mandrake (in rpm format) work fine; but the o
