i wondered at that, too. (i use telnet from my mac,
and it's got what appears to be full ansi/vt220 support
of color--plus as i said, i do get "ls" to generate
colors but many other programs
i've got telnet enabled from within my 192.168.*.* intranet
and would like to have the telnet sessions behave like the
consoled does--but mutt and mc* all use monochrome-like
displays even tho my settings are 'vt220' compatible. when
i use 'ls --color' the colors show up properly, just as
they do i
