I have always downloaded straight from Sun's website(tarball) and it works
fine for me. You can consider that

You can get them from blackdown.org, but I think they only exist for
sarge and sid. They even have .debs and an apt source.

I did a mistake and some files of my system were rm'ed.
I found what files were missing and reinstalled the respective
packages.
But, for my surprise, if a file is missing the new installed
version didn't correct the problem, even if is a crucial file. Should I
