Anyone know why scwm is no longer part of debian? It exists in stable
but not in testing or unstable.

i've finally learned my lesson the hard way. i've ditched scwm and
decided to give icewm another try - i'm begining to like it. i was
just under the impression that i can still use gnome apps with a
non-gnome compliant window manager minus some functionality. but then

You're making life difficult on yourself. I don't think Scwm is GNOME
compliant -- so don't try to use it with GNOME. Select either the
"Xsession" or "Debian" sessian option from GDM to use Scwm *without*
GNOME. You really shouldn't need to muck wit

hi all
i'm switching window managers from enlightenment to scwm (it's about
time i learn lisp). i'm using gdm as my display manager, which -
correct me if i'm wrong - simply runs gdmchooser, gdmlogin, and
gnome-session or Xsession depending on which session i choose.

I'm intrigued by scwm, and wonder if anyone else isn't able to use the
configuration tool. When I select Preference->Scwm options... nothing
happens. Pretty much the only thing that works in the Preferences menu is
the themes.
Does anyone have any pointers?
Thanks.

Why does scwm take forever to load? Do I have to byte-compile something here?

I could pin this down to a problem with /etc/X11/scwm/s
Hi all,
my system is Debian 1.3 (manually updated to libc6 and using many other 2.0
packages as well). I have installed SCWM 0.5-3 and tried to start it using the
Afterstep (my current WM) menu and $HOME/.xsession. In either case, initially
it seemed to start up (though I didn't get as f
