he Debian package site downloaded it and it's common files, when out of the blue, dhcp started running again by itself! Weird. Bottom line, keep KDE off your machine :). Seriously, I still don't understand why removing kde-desktop pulled off avahi-daemon. I went back into the Aptitude log
