That script in 2.6.16 has to be defective somehow. The last kernel I was able to install on this box was 2.6.12 and though it's out of date it installed with no incidents like this. I made a similar mistake and tried to install 2.6.17 earlier and that failed on installation. On Fri, 22 Sep
