I didn't see this in this covered exactly in the kernel howto. What I would like to do is save my old kernel 2.0.34 until I'm sure that the newly compiled kernel works. I have downloaded two patches for the kernel to make it 2.0.36. Here is my /usr/src: /usr/src$ l total 14011 drwxrwsr-x 4
