Hi,
will be isapnptools (pnpdump, isapnp,...) at Etch, or have to use it from Sarge?

What would be better, disabling PnP for 3c509b using the DOS utility from
http://www.3com.com ? or use isapnptools?
I would like to hear some opinions before proceeding. I was about to install
isapnptools when I saw the warning in the lower half of the screen (dselect,
2.2rev3) about some

pnpdump doesn't generate those extra three lines - those were put in manually
as instructed by the docs for isapnptools, I believe. If I comment out the two
under the first - isapnp runs with no errors - however, I can't verify that it
works since my sound suddenly broke as I mention

Hi,
Just did an apt-get upgrade and got version 1.23 of isapnptools. Now, if I do
`isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf`, I get the following error:
dip:~# isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf
Don't know what to do with A20)) on or around line 349

Yes, there is... apt-get install isapnptools.
Basically what you need to do is type (as root) "pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf" and
then edit that isapnp.conf file to comment out the correct settings for your
sound card. Refer to the documentation in /usr/share/doc/isapnptools.
Take my
Is there a deb isapnptools package? I'm trying to set up kernel 2.2.16 to
autoconfig my soundcard and it's not showing anything about isapnp in dmesg. I
think I've got all the swithces right, and I've gotten it to autoload the
modules for my yamaha oplsax soundcard

I think of yes.

Hello Paul!
You have luck, it's me, the awe-howto maintainer. Next time, you should
really sent your questions to me :)
You need to edit the isapnp.conf file, as described in my howto. You have to
uncomment the correct lines (don't forget the ACT Y lines), and to add two
lines with IO adresses.
Hello my debian friends, I just got a pentium II with an awe64 sound
card, and I want to have sound capability. I know I have to recompile
the kernel for this to work. I also know that I have to use
isapnptools. I am running slink (2.0) kernel version 2.0.33 (from the
base disks) I have

Hi -
Might anyone have some advice on how to go about setting up
the isapnp.config file? I have run pnpdump and it successfully
found my (2) PnP cards (modem & sound). However, there are
a number of configuration options for each, and i would like
