Greetings;
I've just today, tried to install the 14 disk set is 3.1 (sarge) onto
a drive in a test box, but after the one disk was done, it asked to
be rebooted rather than asking for more disks, this despite my using
the 'expert26' install argument.
So I ran aptitude when it was rebooted sinc

might like to check:
Did you download the files over the internet? Are they corrupted?
Check sizes with the originals.
Have you gone through bios disabling shadow memory?
What other hardware is installed in the machine?

I've now stripped all the equipment out of the machine, except the Diamond
3D 3000, and reset all the CMOS options to their absolute most conservative.
