Hi,
I'm using debian 9 (stretch).
I would like to install the info node for elisp (in emacs).
I went to packages.debian.org to search for elisp in stretch. There are
six results but none of them look like they contain info documentation.
Does the elisp info node come in a package, or is it a M

I suspect this could be your problem: you have a local Perl installation
which interferes badly. Why do you need it and could you try to
uninstall it?

Does everyone who upgrades have snags with install-info? I received an email
when I posted a similar inquiry some months ago, that someone had never had
such a problem. But especially when I am doing an update/upgrade after a long
interval, with, say 200MB of files (sid), over several years I

I don't know the answer to your question, but if the man and info pages are

I've been trying to decipher the necessary syntax for intall-info.
`man install-info' and `info install-info' have different opinions
about how it works.

Dear Debians:
Thanks for your help so far.
A problem I am having is in installation of packages. I still have a number of
"broken pkgs" and unconfigured.
I am getting "/usr/sbin/install-info: no such file or directory" messages.
I've tried to re-install dpkg_1.7.1
One of the most usual errors I have received over the years when installing
debian packages has been the failure of install-info.
So what is the solution?
The problem is an error in both prerm and postinst scripts when running
install-info.
Thanks in advance

Hi!

With the install-info of the texinfo distribution it works fine. Why did you

look at your /usr/info/dir file, it should be the upper level of info in
