It sounds like your network script is running while the wireless driver hasn't
finished setting up. I have an EPX form computer out in the field and it's got
an rt2570 in it. Because of the peculiar way that machine operates, I use
pre-up/post-down to load and unload the driver; the driver it

Turns out I made a mistake in my original post. If the ifup command fails,
then the iwconfig command will also fail:

Sorry in advance if this is a bit long--I tried to keep it very clear.
Having some trouble establishing my wireless connection. I recently upgraded
Sarge to Etch. Now using the stock 2.6.18 686 kernel. No problems with the
