now when I login to Debian, I get this error:

Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?
I googled and all I found were SUSE errors..
I am running Lenny, and it happened before I did the latest update to
2.6.26-1

Lorenzo, me too! Just want to say thanks; this was annoying my
daughter and wife; I didn't know what it was. I fixed it for me by
deleting my whole .gnome2 directory and then setting
Thanks! I had the same problem and now it's fixed!!
I just wanted to comment one thing:
You don't have to delete the lines with the greatest number, just the
lines with the duplicated command but without arguments.

Hi guys,
I've got an error pop-up during gnome startup: "there's already a gnome-panel".
My gnome desktop has 2 gnome-panel, but I've noticed that the process is only
one.
I've tried to fix it with gnome-session-properties, but I didn't find any
solution. There are probably 2 gnome-panel entries,

The font is included in both the xfonts-75dpi and xfonts-100dpi

Hello,
I ha installed woody in a fresh machine. I have installed the gnome stuff plus
sawfish wm too. Now, when I point with the mouse the border, buttons or title
bar of any window in the desktop I hear a "beep". Looking at the .gnome-errors
file, I found that each beep produces a line in that

With C locale, many locale aware (console) apps fail to display 8-bit
characters. Setting locale to en_US works, but more specialized
locales, like en_US.ISO-8859-1 generate the

Hi,
I've had the same problem.
I don't know whether this is the proper solution,
but my messages went away after I added the following to
my .bashrc:
export LC_ALL=C
Balazs
PS: BTW does anybody know where one can set the global
environment variable defaults?

Please post the output of 'locale'. Probably there's just some bogus
locale value filled in ('spose US doesn't need anything else than C,
right?).

Just built out a woody box (from the 6 floppies) for my boss. Looks good
now. Did an install of xsession-xfree86, sawfish-gnome and xsession.
That installed 95% of what we needed. This became a problem because it
didn't explain you need the fixed fonts and I ended up digging through

Dunno about that.

That means you can't play sounds on your box, because you don't have the right
permissions.
Hello
I am running helix-gnome. Today I was looking to the .gnome-error file and
I found inside of it a lot of the following two lines:
"GTX-warning ** = Unable to locate loadable module in
module_path='libpixmap.so'"
"/dev/dsp: Permission denied"
