I tried to recompile xmms, because I'm not using the debian package from
sarge, but that didn't hel

Also after installing the `ttf-freefont' package, I can not select those
fonts from any gtk app. I did:
fc-cache -fv
xset fp rehash
defoma-user reconfigure
(and even restarted
