This has a huge amount of data, 1.5 gig. It is not possible to install on
using partitions set up by Debian installer.
An alternative installation modus for Flightgear is in order, however. There
is no need for that data to fill up /usr or to install in one go and run out of
/var space. Whole

Shifted, alted, etc., should only be for switch things.
Is there a way I can set up my own?

Flightgear is a great, though resource hawging, flight simulator.
Terraync will enable it to download scenery as you fly.
Map will convert this scenery to maps and Atlas will show you where your are

There seems to be problem with the scenery. Nothing but the startup default
and the tutorial works. Used to be nice on Martha's Vinyard :-)
Was also a problem with the keyboard an erratic screen flashes and a KDE crash
on X restart but that restart might have been necessary. After the restart,

I would expect to see some bug reports against xlibmesa-g

benchmark for raw OpenGL performance. Nethertheless torcs

Same here, and also with a Matrox G550.

Nothing. But you try rendering a few dozen square miles of terrain,
including weather, ground textures, the sky, etc., and keep a smooth
picture. That requires *far* more processing than the glxgears "Hello

something)
Any idea about what might have gone wrong?
Thanks,

apt-get install flightgear
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
flightgear: Depends: libmetakit but it is not installable
E: Sorry, broken packages
What fun :) I guess it'll work tomorrow.

Hi,
I am trying to install flightgear 0.7.6 (the current version on stable) on
my potato box (debian-2.2r2, kernel 2.2.19). I was trying to compile it as
in "apt-get -b source flightgear" with my deb-src line in /etc/apt/sources.list
pointing to unstable . But this does not work. If a
Hi!
I'm trying to run flightgear with an USB Sidewinder on debian sid. I
installed the joystick package and provided the relevant drivers in a
custom kernel 2.4.4. First I ran jstest which seemed to react
properly, although showing for the first two axis in a range of 2^10
rathern than that
