There are the /var/lib/dpkg/{available,status}-old files...
as long as you haven't been going in and out of dselect and making
changes they may still contain the status field set how you want.
You could also attack /var/lib/dpkg/status with a text editor and
manually change the status field of all
I hit the wrong button in dselect, and now it's ready to remove a lot of
stuff. I've tried going through the whole thing and changing all the -'s to
*'s but I'm caught in some cruel, vicious circle with the perl packages.
Is there a way to reset dselect, so that every package that's installed has
2 matches
