I am tring to install Debian on an old pc (486).
The BIOS on the old pc does not allow me to boot from cd-rom
anddoes not recognize the existence of thecd-rom drive. It does

/dev/hda for master on primary IDE
/dev/hdb for slave on prim. IDE
/dev/hdc for master on sec. IDE
/dev/hdd for slave on sec. IDE
Now, just you need to know where your cdrom is.
