I just set up my system to use Amanda only to discover that it cannot
append to tapes, thus wasting a ton of space on every run (imagine
putting a 90MB incremental backup on a tape that can store 24GB and
then using a brand new tape the next night). Is there another package
with a similar level of
reat for me over the past few years.
Total restores have worked flawlessly, starting with a formatted hd I have
been able to restore the entire system. I have not tested the free backup
programs which my friend claims work just as good, but he has not had to
restore his system from tape yet...

I don't know about this device specifically, I would think it just needs
to be recognized prope
Hallo,
I would like to hear whether there is a successful backup program for
LInux which can compare in efficiency with the Dos backup software coming
with the Iomega Ditto 2Gb.
I have been experimenting with backup programs on Linux since I installed
an internal Iomega Ditto 2GB and a Ditto
