Hello, I've just suffered a bit of a crash after playing with pcmcia
packages, and after restarting, had some lost inodes and stuff. I was able
to fix the broken /var/lib/dpkg/available by deleting it and then doing a
dpkg --clear-avail, which seemed to fix the problem.
