The SVGA server in slink does not support this chip. You can just download the
SVGA
server
from XFree86 website, and manually link it to /usr/X11R6/bin/X.
Then edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config.
You will need to set the following options on:
Option "sw_cursor"
Option "no_bitblt"
Option "no_imageblt

I got one working a little while ago. Here's how:
You have to go to xfree86.org and download the new XF_SVGA server
(latest version). Put this somewhere, and make it mode 755.
(You have to untar it, etc... ; put the actual X server somewhere)
Now, edit /etc/X11/Xserver and change the first lin
I think XFree86 3.3.3.1 is coming with support of this chipset. But NOT
using the accelerated S3 variant but the normal SVGA.
