I want to rip some programs off a TIVO to a DVD, figuring to do so with a Debian box. I tried with Debian; failed. So I wiped the box and installed the latest Ubuntu, thinking it might be more "user friendly"; I failed with it also, so I wiped it and went back to Debian (8), which just "feels"
