Just upgraded one of my servers to etch. (really a new install) - new
system, had dumped sarge on it earlier, but never deployed.
now:
etch (i386) - net install
source: ftp://ftp2.fr.debian.org/debian/
(never used this source before, this was the first server setup in
france)
Anyway, I install

It looks like you have/had the broken base-p
After upgrading sid, postgresql won't start anymore.
The error says:
There is no PostgreSQL database framework in /var/lib/postgres/data.
Run initdb as the postgres user to create it
I had a database before, if I run initdb, will it get overwritten ?

Hi
I am trying to get php4 and postgresql work together.

Loadmodule php-mo
Thanks to Oliver for replying to my message.
In the end I upgraded to the potato version of postgresql and after
the installation, postmaster started without a problem. I still do not
understand what caused the problem on Sunday.

I have sent this message under a different subject line and did not
get any response. At the moment I cannot use Postgresql and it is a
frustration. It seems that my system is an unstable linux system.
I got this message when my computer rebooted.
