You did not mention what version of boot-floppies you were using
I did a network install with pcmcia using boot-floppies 3.0.17. Modules
were fine.
In the initial install phase, the network was found, but not on reboot.
For me, this was fixed by adding the line DHCP="y" after the line saying

Hi
I'm installing debian woody (r3.0) on a laptop. I want to do a
network-install. The bootfloppies I 've got don't seem to get my network
working right. I loaded (manually, because mdprobe didn't do it) the
following modules:
pcmcia_core
i82365
pcnet_cs
ds

I've installed and tailored Bunk's 2.4.9 kernel. Now I want to install pcmcia
support from Bunk's stuff.
I've read in pcmcia-cs README-2.4.9 that now with 2.4.x kernels I can compile
either the support for pcmcia directly into the kernel or compile the modules

I've compiled my 2.4.9 kernel to support PCMCIA and it works for one of my
PCMCIA network cards (3COM 575), but not for my other (DFE-660). When I try
the other card, it beeps but never goes online. Everything else works fine,
though.

I was somewhat surprised to see that there were no PCMCIA modules
included with the 2.2.18pre21 kernel package. Where do I get PCMCIA
sources? There is the obvious pcmcia-source -- 'dat the beast?

Hi:
I have just purchased a used AST Ascentia 810N notebook pc. This system
doesn't have a cd rom drive, so I am forced to use a PCMCIA-enabled one to
install Debian. Could anyone tell me if the Debian 2.0 CD (I just bought

Howdy,
I'm trying to install Debian on a Compaq Armada 1550T with a
3Com Etherlink III PCMCIA Ethernet adaptor. I installed everything
from the Infomagic CD-ROM (I know, I'm stupid :-) and tried compiling
pcmcia support from pcmcia-source_2.9.5-3.deb which I found on the
web. Unf
The error message is misleading, to say the least. The problem is
most likely that between the kernel and the modules, one is compiled
with CONFIG_MOD_VERSIONS set and the other is not. To fix it you
could install the kernel sources, run "make menuconfig", and
compile the kernel and modules:

hi all,
recently installed debian linux 1.2 on my NEC versa 6030H
after installing the .deb for pcmcia-cs and pcmcia-modules-2.0.27 (my
kernel, the default installed kernel, is 2.0.27 according to uname -a),
the card stuff comes up at boot time but tells me, among other errors:
