Mysterious, spontaneous reboot trying to run e

Hi all, I compiled Enlightenment this morning from the tgz sources. All went well and I edited the /etc/X11/windowmanagers (is there a better way to do this? or am I okay with editing this file?) file to include enlightenment (+ the path) to run E as the first wm. Well X started and just sat there
