Hi,
I need to show some movies on different monitors using a video card
with 8 HDMI ports on a workstation, and I need to have all done
automatically everytime the workstation starts, without use
intervention. I had no time yet to practice with this card, but I also
have a card with two HDMI and a

I don't have multiple monitors on my debian box, but use devilspie2 to send
specific applications to various virtual desktops, so I expect that it would
do so on a multi-monitor setup as well.

Given one screen on two monitors and an application, can the default
destination of a new window for the application be configured
permanently? Make leafpad always prefer the left monitor for example.
leafpad doesn't have a pertinent option. Also not within the
scope of X11.

I use dual heading, no DE, only X11, window manager & shell. The old

I am running a Colorgraphic Quad-monitor card (S4 Savage chipset). The
primary monitor (on port 1) works fine, but the other three are not
activated. How will I get this to work?

I remember some discussion about this a while back, however I can't
seem to find it...
It's my understanding that KDE needs to have multiple monitor support
compiled in, but that the Debian packages wouldn't have this until
some future change was made.
Is this still the case in sid? If so, is som

If your question is simply whether multiple monitors are supported or not
the answer is yes. But if you are asking if you can say move you mouse to
the edge of one monitor and to the other, I can not tell you. That
question would be more specific to either X or to which desktop

multiple monitors feature. i was just wondering whether debian has this
feature too?
i look forward to your reply.

Thank you for your suggestions. VNC seems to be the coolest thing to try.

Hello,
I have three computers on a LAN. I want to run an application in one of them
and have the display output showing on the other two at the same time. I guess
what I'm trying to do is something like MS netmeeting. Is this possible?
