Hard Disk Boot Failure -- Endless 01 01 01 etc

When booting from hard disk, the system goes through memory test and then starts an endless stream of zeros and ones. Booting from floppy works fine. Any suggestions? This is a new installation of release 2.1 (Mar. 9). I have it on the first hard disk on the second IDE channel. As I'm building thi
