Hi, Thanks for all your help, just starting upgrading to Debian 11. Reasons for going with nvidia was it was the cheapest thing I could find, passively cooled, and I do a bit of stuff with Cuda so nvidia is the only game in town. Hi, My old core2 (8gb ram) died after a power cycle,so I bought an AMD Ryzen 5800 with 32Gb Ram and a new motherboard and a new nvidia graphics card.I converted the boot system over to EFI ( https://blog.getreu.net/projects/legacy-to-uefi-boot/). I was going to upgrade to Debian 11 anyway, but is
