Hello,
An updated jessie system here with bochs and bochs-sdl.
The system has a working PS/2 mouse. The ~/.bochsrc is
adjusted to boot from a floppy image.
Bochs is started from a console window and this is included
in the output.

Greetings,
Just stumbled over some software known as Bochs. It
sounds as if I could install that on my Debian 4.0
system and then be able to run Win 2k as needed in a
"partition" when needed.
Is Bochs fast enough to be practical? I have a P4,

Qemu is very usable and simple to install Windows upon, albeit a little
slow.
The following page is a quick walk-through of installing Windows 2000
upon Qemu:

I use it infrequently, but it's nice to have available.

Vmware let's you run an operating system compiled
for i386 (intel) on i386. It only simulates an interface
to the hardware. So that you can run windows for i386 on
linux for i386. While bochs actually emulates the i386 so
that you can run windows for i386 on something like a
sun sparc.
