what are you using? sarge? woody? unstable? and apt source? backports etc? Apache and apache2 are two different packages. Apache2 is version 2 of apache server and is different in configuration/setup etc. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, looks like you've been trying to install different packages

Has anyone else noticed that during the installation of apache ,if you change the default directories for the document root and/or the cgi-bin directory, this is not reflected in the srm.conf file. You have to go into that file, and manually update those paths. While I have your attention, how doe
