Hallo again,
Is anyone using a Gigabyte GA-6XDS Motherboard? I know it comes with
onboard SCSI (plus)
but it uses an Adaptec 7895 chipset (minus). So I need to know how easy it
it to use linux with this
board. Is there a kernel that readily supports this chipset or is it better
to purchase a se
Hello people,
I think this is the last of my confguration problems, so bare with me.

Anybody know where I can purchase a 'normal' 102 key English (British)

Hallo again,
during my fiddling this weekend trying to get Quake to work, I've
changed some permissions
somewhere and I don't know where. If I do "man smail" as root I get the man

"man smail" as a normal user I get the message:

OK I still don't have a clue how to set up this mail stuff. This is what I

The local machine is called "gonzo" (yes, after the muppets), and I connect

It appears to me that dfm always
I would really like to be able to build a system
up from scratch. While I appreciate the excellence that is debian, I find that
for understanding how everything fits together building a system up from scratch

Hallo everyone,
I'm not certain I've got a

First the most important question. Does anyone
have experience running a Matrox Millennium G200? I assume it needs special
drivers as they're not standard in XFree86, so where do I get them from? Can
anyone recommend a truly excellent card for X.
If I install just the binary CD (cheapbytes
Hallo again.
Do
the glide drivers currently available from 3dfx's site support the Monster 3D II

Voodoo card was present. Yet according to the Howto everying is in place.
/proc/pci recognises it!
thanks.
OK, here's part II of
the problem. I pulled out my modem and configured it to com1 irq4. I disabled
com1 on the motherboard and windows seems happy. However now I get the following
