i wanted to run SAWMILL as window manager (im not using ximian so i couldnt
install sawfish) on gdm.
i did:
update-alternatives --config x-window-manager
and then i chose SAWMILL as the window manager from the list.
BUT:
i thought i should edit a file, particularly .xinitrc or .xsession...
i
i installed potato on my machine, and i had XDM as the window manager.
i wanted to switch to GNOME, so i put:
exec gnome-session
in my .xinit file (/etc/X11/xinitrd/.xinit --- i hope its the right path...)
1. did i do the right thing??? i mean is it the right file?
2. there is this GNOME p
my grub does not see the vmlinuz file...
entries looks like this:

i dont know what i did wrong, windoze is loading properly, and when i select

ive got this graphics card (SIS6326) and i have a big problem with setting
the resolution and size of the screen. im working with XF86Config file and
im trying to put those modes, but i always get too big screen for my
monitor. i dont have any virtula lines in the file.. but i just dont know
how to
can i have access to non-linux disks (other partitions than linux partition)
???
anyone can tell me, please, how can i do this?
